Where is the difference?

10 07 2008

I have just read News from European Youth Forum and I got to know that Belgian parlamentarians had voted to ban “Mosquito” buzzer (a device that emits high frequency sound that only people under 25 are able to ”hear”).

The research shows that young people who have been exposed to the Mosquito complain about ear pain, buzzing in their ears and headaches. The ministers also say that ”Mosquito” violates various Human Rights and the “International Convention on the Rights of Child” You can read the article here. Nice that they care about young people´s wellbeing…

… BUT/AND …

As far as I have been informed, young people exposed to alcohol have also headaches and other physical problems. And the Human Rights of those children and youth who are exposed to other people under influence of alcohol are STRONGLY violated (freedom, access, safe childhood etc.)

So I just wonder who will vote on banning alcohol? Or lets just start with stricter laws on exposure of alcohol among youth under 25 as a warm up!
